Sarah Constructions was entrusted with the task of amping up South Australia's Colonnades shopping centre and they got in touch with Evergreen Walls to install some lush greenery in an impressive fit out. Sarah Constructions provided us with a brief of what the job required and we returned with some potential design prospects based off their vision. They selected a simple but extremely effective greenery design and we got to work organising, transporting and installing our beautiful greenery into their busy shopping centre.

Colonnades shopping centre is located 28 kms from the Adelaide CBD so it was inevitably more difficult than a local installation. Evergreen Walls loves a challenge and so our project managers set to work organising transportation of product and the logistics of team travel. We encountered challenges with installation as the works had to be carried out after hours when the centre was empty of customers and foot traffic. Because of the greenery design, on the top of cement pillars, we also had to organise access equipment to assist in the installation.

Our Solution

We used our Evergreen Fern Hanging Bush and it was the perfect design solution to add some vibrancy to the statement cement pillars used throughout the centre. It worked incredibly well to create an organic, cascading look that complimented the natural timber interiors in the shopping centre. Our hanging bushes are fantastic at providing variety in length and are an extremely versatile plant, slotting in well to any interior and adding that pop of colour without any additional maintenance requirements.

Project Impact

The result of our greenery installation was a more welcoming shopping centre that breaks through a sterile environment and brings a little bit of nature indoors. Beautifying their shopping centre means Colonnades can provide a more pleasant shopping experience for their visitors and create a loyal clientele that might otherwise have gone elsewhere. It also provides an appealing space for their vendors to trade out of, creating an overall quality experience for everyone.
