Modern Office Greenery: The Onset’s Hanging Pothos Halo

Key Info

Client: The Onset
Market Sector: Office & Workspace
Project Classification: Simple

The Vision

Located in the creative hub of Surry Hills, The Onset required a workspace transformation that reflected their identity as a modern, forward-thinking recruitment agency. The design intent was highly specific, focusing on "Greenery as Architecture" rather than simple decoration. The goal was to install an 11.5-metre greenery halo that followed an organic, stop-start layout.

Unlike traditional continuous wraps, this project relied on intentional gaps and clusters to create a sense of movement. By avoiding symmetry and utilising a mix of varied drop lengths - ranging from 60cm to 180cm - the vision was to create a stunning feature that felt like it was naturally colonising the suspended structure of the Buckingham Street office.

The Process

To achieve an organic look on the 11-metre timber halo, our team used an efficient, bespoke artificial greenery installation method. By utilising the internal metal channels identified during our site inspection, we engineered a lightweight solution perfectly integrated with the office architecture.

Using specialised foam inserts, our installers hand-placed each artificial Pothos bush to create a natural "wave" effect. This streamlined process ensured the greenery was secure and perfectly positioned, maintaining the minimalist aesthetic of the office fitout. From boutique local projects to large-scale national rollouts, our team delivers professional, high-impact results with ease.

The Result

The completed commercial greenery installation at The Onset showcases the impact of negative space in biophilic office design, resulting in a sophisticated, lightweight halo that energises the workspace. By strategically layering Green and Variegated Pothos at varying heights, we created a feature that draws the eye upward to emphasise the ceiling height while providing a soft, natural contrast to the industrial fixtures. This project proves that high-quality artificial greenery can appear beautifully wild while maintaining the precision required for a modern, professional fitout.
